Greetings saints!
Yesterday we remembered, offered thanks and celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We walked through 1Cor. 12-22 in order to recognize the vital centrality of the resurrection of Christ to the Christian faith.
We discovered that without the resurrection of Christ, Christianity loses credibility and is an empty exercise in religious superstition.
Hypothetically speaking, if Christ has not been raised: -There is no resurrection from death.
-All gospel preaching is vain(empty) and so is our faith.
-The apostles lied on God. They all proclaimed that God raised Christ from death.
-We’re still in our sin. Through the resurrection God vindicated Christ(sacrifice offered, sacrifice accepted). If Christ is not raised, our sins are still accounted to us.
-Our loved who died in Christ have simply perished.
-We are of all people to be pitied.
The logical consequences of deny the resurrection of Christ are devastating.
But thanks be to God, Christ is risen!
And since Christ is risen, the Christian faith offers the only real hope in this life and the life to come. Because Jesus died to satisfy the wrath of a Holy God, believers can be at peace and have fellowship with God both now and forever.
Jesus the second Adam, successfully rescued those who trust him from the curse the first man Adam brought upon all mankind. The choice before mankind today is whether we want death in the first man Adam or life in the second Adam (our Lord Jesus Christ). I trust that you’ve chosen life eternal in Christ. Grace to you!
